As you saw in an earlier blog, I wrote about why people choose to go into Direct Sales. The advantages, and the freedom that it gives you. I would like to talk to you about why I chose Younique as a company.
First, it does help that this company sells makeup, because I am hooked on makeup. But I was never willing to try new things. I would always keep the same looks and the same colours. I would never even wear lipstick. If you look at my makeup before as to now, you would see just how much things have changed. I have learned new tricks and realized what quality really does. Actually, I kind of new what quality does because I was shopping more expensive products before joining.
When I first joined, I was so hesitant. There was a girl posting about this new mascara that could grow your lashes but nobody wanted to pay the shipping. So I told them I would be willing to split with some people to save on shipping (if we spent 200$ or more Canadian, shipping was free), so I had a bunch of people agreeing. The girl then told me “Did you want to join and earn some commission?” me: “Oh no, it’s ok, I’d rather try the products first….”….. “Are you sure?” “yes” “ok…” 30 mascaras later… no, I’m not joking, I did not jump on board there, What was I thinking???? Anyway, ordered, received, I ordered other products in the meantime for me, and I had more people asking for mascaras. My now upline “Are you sure???? There’s no other fees or nothing and you would be making commission”…. I finally jumped on, and ordered 17 more mascaras. Did you know, that I would have made commission on 47 mascaras if I had just jumped on? There were no other fees but a presenters kit full of makeup at a great price! So I joined, and during the process, I met some fantastic people who are now some of my closest friends today. I was in a town, where I didn’t know anyone, pregnant, and was no longer able to go up to work because of my pregnancy (because there are no hospitals or doctors and fly-outs are never guaranteed). So this company right there, gave me new friendships. I have met people in my area, and I have met some amazing women who sell Younique as well.
But now that those mascaras are sold, 2 years later, why am I still with the company? Well, because Younique is absolutely amazing! But let me first tell you the number one reason why I am still with Younique today. Because our CEO had this dream that he wanted to create a foundation to help women who have been sexual abused. He gave himself five years to be able to build it, but then learned that it would only take two because this company has skyrocketed and continues to grow. These products are not created to hide who we are, but to enhance what we have. These products are to help care for our skin, while making our eyes stand out. To help us feel good. And I will be the first to admit, that I m more comfortable when I do wear makeup. It allows me to hold my head up just a bit higher. It is also thanks to Younique that I have actually gone out in public WITHOUT makeup. Yes, I go out without makeup now. Years ago, it was a struggle and a big no-no. I remember I had forgotten my foundation going up to work. Thank goodness we had to land in Iqaluit because I was able to buy some for my rotation. That’s how bad it was! I was so self-conscious without my makeup. Today, I have to admit, I barely wear some, although I do love it.
DREAMS:
Who does NOT dream of doing what they love? I mean, if you love a product so much and have the chance to wear it at a discount and sell it so that you can even earn them at a great price or even free, wouldn’t you want that? And what if you were able to have a career where you can do what you want? Where you can earn paid trips, or free training at the CEO’s home? Where they fly you there and teach you to be a better leader? What if you can live a life you dream?
DETERMINATION:
If you are determined to chance your life for the best, you will. Any job takes a lot of work. But what if you were fairly rewarded on the amount of work you did? There are many women who have retired their husbands. Yes, it took a lot of time, and they put in more hours than a 9-5 job, but wouldn’t you if that means that you could live VERY comfortably? The only person stopping you from succeeding to the top, is yourself. Some people’s income are higher than the highest position at a company (that is below a CEO)
EMPOWERMENT:
Do you love knowing that you have made someone feel good? I know I love that feeling. When someone has build confidence and started believing in themselves again. And that fact that this company is empowering you, because they are giving you the chance to live a perfect life, as it is up to you to work for it.
FRIENDSHIPS:
If you love meeting new people, then Direct Sales is perfect for you! In order to grow, you need to be known. It’s like any company out there. Take the income of a family owned restaurant, and that of a franchise, and which one makes more money? There is no pyramid scheme, it is just a company that is growing. This company has helped me find so many friendships, and a lot of them are y-sisters. We are working together to better ourselves, because we want all of us to be successful. It is a company where you want others to grow so that we can all achieve our dreams. This company provides respect, kindness, understanding and empowerment.
OPPORTUNITIES:
The opportunities are unlimited. The only thing that can stop you, is you! You are your own obstacle. If you stop yourself, or doubt yourself, or hold back without taking that huge leap of fear, then you won’t be able to grow. It is the scariest but the most amazing thing you could do. Do you think those who invested in a million dollar company wasn’t afraid? Do you think that our CEO wasn’t afraid to start this company? The set backs, the work, the growing, etc…. Everyone has fears, it’s whether or not we decide to face them.
SELF-DEVELOPMENT:
Yes, this is tied up to Empowerment and Dreams, but it’s also more. It is learning to work on yourself so that you can become a better person. Because if you don’t work on yourself, you can not work on the company. You are unable to grow, but that’s what’s amazing with this company, because your confidence helps with this. You feel more confident to want to work on yourself. You also have amazing y-sisters who help you gain confidence and support you as you work on yourself.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Younique helps celebrate even the smallest achievements, because those small achievements are what brings you one step closer to your dreams. You are rewarded with charms, you are given trip incentives, car allowances, free training, etc…
FREEDOM:
