You know what my biggest flaw is? Allowing negative people to bring me down. All my life I have been teased for being a bigger girl, because it seems it was more of a priority. I mean, we all know kids are mean, but if you think about it, is it really that bad what I am? Yeah, I’m a big girl, so what?
Have I made people feel horrible about being what I look like? Heck no. Have I purposely hurt someone to make myself feel good? No. Did I put someone in danger for my own selfishness? Nope. All I did was be a fat girl who’s not considered supermodel beauty. That’s it. We don’t see what I provide, what I do, how kind I am to people, how compassionate, understanding, helpful, sympathetic, and true. We only focus on the exterior because some people need to bring others down in order to feel good about themselves. I’m not the danger to people, they are. So why did I let that affect me?
IDEAL BODY
Well, because we have been brainwashed to believe what the definition of beauty is. Not that you aren’t, you’re gorgeous, what I’m saying, is that, Hollywood decided to tell us what pretty is. If you look at beauty through the ages, it has changed IMMENSELY. Let’s take a look for example. Click here for a quick post comparing the ‘Ideal Body’ from the 1600s to 2010 and you’ll see how everything changed.
BODY POSITIVITY
So if today is all about Body Positivity, so that means, YOU should see that you are beautiful. This is a journey I plan on working on, and I want to know if you want to join me in this? If you are on Facebook, I do have an amazing group that I’m trying to build up for women, and I’m looking for more who want to work in uplifting each other. I mean, I want everyone to share selfies and celebrate. I want you to share your favourite beauty product, favourite outfit, favourite hairstyle, favourite PJs, favourite store, your beauty tips, your routines, etc…
And work on building each other up. I’ll admit, I suck at fashion, literally. I’m that plus size girl who’s comfy in jeans and a shirt. But I want girly girls, and tomboys, and athletic girls, the no makeup, the full makeup, the ‘when I care to’ makeup. I want a community of positivity.
Doesn’t that sound fun? I’ll admit, I haven’t been sharing much on my blog, I don’t know how to express myself, and I’m also just starting to feel better after going through a rough patch. But I mean, why not? Why not spread this out as far as possible. I think it’s time.
BEAUTY COMMUNITY
If you want to join my Facebook Community, please feel free by clicking on this link. If you don’t want to trust the link, that’s fine, I totally get that, go to Facebook and find Embracing Beauty & Co, it’s a group, or, if you find the page, you can click the page and it will bring you to the group.
Let’s focus on Body Positiviy on ourselves, let’s get together and learn from each other. I am really hoping I get to meet more of you faboulous ladies.
In the comments here, why don’t you share one of your favourite beauty tips?
